Inspiring children and equipping parents
We recognize the need for more diversity and inclusion for people of color in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM).
Through books, toys, activities, games, and experiences, we hope to inspire children of color with STEAM concepts. We also aspire to equip parents and caregivers with tools to influence every child’s success in these areas.
Wife and husband duo, Delanda and Terrence Coleman started Sydney & Coleman in 2019. They have one daughter, who loves to have a bedtime story read to her every night! After years of reading, the couple began searching for books with more diverse characters in topics that focused on science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).
Delanda and Terrence found very few options in these categories and decided it was time to create their own story. They are excited to create stories and experiences that highlight inclusive images all children and parents will love.
Delanda was born and raised in Roxbury, MA, and Terrence was raised in Willingboro, NJ. The couple meet while Delanda attended Business School at New York University. They moved to Seattle, where Terrence received his JD at Seattle University School of Law.
They both now reside in Dorchester, MA, with their daughter. There they published their first book: “More Than A Princess.”
